Account Deletion & Data Requests
You’re always in control of your MoodPlant data. This page explains how to delete your account, request removal of specific data, and what information we retain for compliance and security.
Delete Your Account from the App
You can erase your MoodPlant account yourself in just a few steps:
- Open MoodPlant on your iOS or Android device and sign in.
- Tap Profile on the bottom navigation bar.
- Scroll to Account Actions, expand Advanced Actions, then choose Delete Account.
- Confirm the prompts and re-authenticate if requested. We’ll handle the rest.
Data removed within 30 days
- Firebase Auth account (email, linked sign-in providers)
- User profile document (display name, plant name, avatar URL, evolution progress)
- Mood logs, journal entries, affirmations, gratitude activities, and AI coach history
- Grow Pass and other entitlements stored in Firestore
- AI-generated plant sprites and uploaded avatars in Firebase Storage
After deletion, signing in again creates a fresh account with no previous data attached.
Request Deletion via Support
If you no longer have access to your device or the app, contact our support team and we’ll delete the account for you.
Please include:
- Subject line:
MoodPlant Account Deletion Request - The email address linked to your MoodPlant account
- Optional: your name for verification
- Whether you want to remove the entire account or specific data categories
We confirm within 3 business days and finish the deletion within 30 days.
Request Partial Data Deletion
In-app reset
Choose Profile → Account Actions → Advanced Actions → Reset Plant to clear mood history, plant progress, and rewards while keeping your account.
Email support
Ask us to remove specific journal entries, mood logs, uploaded avatars, or other data while keeping the rest of your account active.
Partial deletion requests follow the same verification process to make sure we’re acting on the right account.
Data We Temporarily Retain
To meet legal, fraud prevention, and accounting obligations, we keep a minimal audit trail after account deletion:
- Purchase validation receipts: Retained for up to 180 days, stored without personal identifiers.
- Security logs: Retained for up to 90 days to protect the service against abuse.
These records are isolated from your deleted profile and can’t be used to reconstruct your account.
